Eclipsing the Competition

Eclipse receives a message on her data pad. “Meet me at the old Tuskan camp in the Jungland Wastes. Bring your sleemo pod poodoo face”

Eclipse although extremely insulted can’t pass up this challenge.

As she pulls up beside a pod racer with large arrow shaped engines a young Dug look at Eclipse and spits on the ground. Then he slams the accelerator down and leaves Eclipse in his dust.

Eclipse presses down her own accelerator and quickly catches up to the young Dug. “So scared to lose to me you gotta cheat?!” She yells as she passes him. Suddenly there is angry yelling followed by blaster fire. A bolt strikes the back of Eclipse’s pod leaving a large scorch mark.

The young Dug has a slight lead as the two of them enter the casms. Both drivers spend some time grinding walls as they enter. One of Eclipse’s couplers comes loose as she gets her engines off the walls of the chasms. Her pod spinning out of control as she comes up to more curves and turns in the chasms Eclipse frantically works to reattach the coupler. She’s able to fix it just in time and is able to pull ahead of the young Dug.

The two pods continue to trade places as they fly through the cramped and twisting casms at deadly speeds. Eclipse has a slight lead as she comes out onto a vast open desert space. City lights are far out ahead of her and she doesn’t notice the ground ending at a drop off as her pod lurches out from under her. The Dug once again pulls ahead as he enters the streets of Mos Espa, careening around pedestrians and food stalls.

Eclipse passes him as they are leaving Mos Espa, narrowly missing an old Twil’ek woman using a walker to cross the street. The walker gets sucked into Ecliplse’s engine slowing her down slightly but the remains of the walker get sucked into the Dug’s engines as he is right behind her.

A large group of Dug are standing in a semi circle up ahead and Eclipse comes to a stop in the middle of the group. The young Dug joins her shortly after her arrival with the group and jumps out of his pod, throwing his goggles to the ground. Eclipse makes a snide remark about losing even though he cheated. An old wrinkled female Dug’s eyes go wide at hearing this accusation. She slaps the young Dug up the back side of his head yelling stuff at him in Dugese. She finishes her tirade and walks off looking disgusted. Eclipse approaches the young Dug “That was a good race regardless. What’s your name?”

He doesn’t respond right away but after a glare from what is probably his grandmother he ashamedly tells you his name is Hekula. Eclipse, while flashing a winning smile, says they should do this again sometime. Hekula (successful charm roll) agrees and they part amicably. 

(If eclipse had bothered to look for the goggles that Hekula threw to the ground she would have gotten a piloting tool for herself. If she had found them and run to give them back to Hekula they would have separated actual friends)

Last triumph Ada knows where the old lady lives who lost her walker.
